MEET OUR TEAM!

 

Corey DeVries- President

Corey started Cornerstone in 2009, which has quickly grown into Cornerstone Real Estate Management, Cornerstone Association Management and Cornerstone Building and Maintenance.  Prior to starting Cornerstone, Corey worked on the family farm raising cows and pigs and working for his father in his construction business, DeVries Builders.  While working for DeVries Builders, Corey started building and developing his own income properties, creating his passion for Real Estate.  After working over 20 years building custom homes and remodeling for DeVries Builders, Corey had the desire to start his own company.  Cornerstone was started in the basement of his home with around 30 units to manage, 8 years ago.  He has been blessed with growth and now Cornerstone manages around 1,500 units throughout West Michigan.  Corey is a graduate from Holland Christian High School and has both a Builder and Broker license.  When not working, Corey enjoys traveling with his wife Heather and his 3 daughters(Brooke,Kenzie and Ashey), one of their favorite locations is the Grand Tetons around Jackson, Wyoming.  Corey is an avid hunter and spends most of his fall bow hunting deer in Missouri and elk in Colorado, but nothing beats hunting with his daughters. His other interests include softball, fishing, hiking, camping and watching sports.

 

Tim Lohr- Business Manager

Tim joined Cornerstone in August of 2014 taking on the role of Service Coordinator in the Building and Maintenance Company and most recenty the role as Business Manager ,overseeing all three companies.  Tim is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a degree in Broadcasting/Communications and has held roles in inside sales, purchasing, scheduling, and business management in the past.  When not at the office, Tim enjoys spending time with family, traveling to amusement parks with his wife and two coaster enthusiast sons and following Michigan football.  You can also hear Tim on The Pledge radio station every friday night during the fall and winter, covering High School football and basketball.

 

 

BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE COMPANY

 

Bill Hopp- Service Manager

Bill has been the Manager of the Building and Maintenance Company since he joined the team in 2013.  Prior to joining the Cornerstone team, Bill was the owner of Integrity Heating and Cooling.  He is a licensed HVAC installer and a jack of all trades.  Bill enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, motorcycle trips and relaxing at his cabin.

 

Will Lamer- Service Technician

Will has been with Cornerstone since June of 2014 becoming a Service Technician for the Building and Maintenance Company.  Prior to Cornerstone, Will worked as a truck driver for Zeeland Lumber.   Will does anything from framing houses, installing carpet to minor home repair.  Outside of Cornerstone, Will enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and shooting guns.

 

Doug VanderKooy- Project Manager

Doug has been with Cornerstone since May of 2016 and works as a Service Technician for the Building and Maintenance Company. He recently became the Project Manager for the company.  Doug brings experience in new home construction to the Cornerstone team. Doug lives in Zeeland township and enjoys fishing and building classic cars.

 

Al Salinas- Service Technician

Al joined the Cornerstone team n June 16, working for the Jasonville Condo Association as their Maintenance Technician.  Before coming to Cornerstone Al worked as a carpenter, drywall and roofing. Outside of Cornerstone, Al enjoys singing and playing his guitar.

 

 

REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT COMPANY

 

CHUCK DEWITTE- Sales

Chuck has been with Cornerstone since 2013.  He joined the team after 40 years in business management with Herman Miller, ATL and Shape Corp.  Chuck is a graduate of Davenport College and Detroit College of Business.  He divides his time at Cornerstone, meeting with prospective Landlords and Boards of Condo Associations. As a license Real Estate Agent, he enjoys meeting new people and explaining the benefits of Professional Property Management Company.  When not at Cornerstone, Chuck enjoys spending time with family and volunteering in the non-profit business world.

 

 

Kristi Burch- Property Manager

Kristi has been with Cornerstone since October of 2015 and is the Property Manager for the Real Estate Management Company.  She came from managing apartment properties prior.  Kristi graduated with a Criminal Justice Degree from Grand Vally State University and was in Law Enforcement for 9 years and then 6 years as a Probation officer.  Outside of the office, Kristi is busy with her kids activities which includes gymnastics, softball, volleyball and soccer.  She enjoys playing softball and volleyball herself.

 

Amy Hopp- Leasing Agent

Amy joined the Cornerstone team in 2014. She is a licensed real estate agent and works primarily as a Leasing Agent for the Real Estate Company.  Amy enjoys meeting new people and working to find just the right home for prospective tenants.  When Amy's 6 children and 3 grandchildren are not keeping her busy, she enjoys walking, reading and volunteering at her church.

 

 

CONDO ASSOCIATION COMPANY

 

Kirk Lydy- Association Manager

Kirk recently joined the Cornerstone team in August of 2016, as a Condo Association Manager.  His background  is well diversified as a manager as he has spent the last nine years in Property Management.  Kirk really enjoys being outdoors, either golfing, backpack hiking or in his garden.  During the winter month's he likes being in his wood shop building furniture.  What he enjoys most is spending time with his family and watching his grandkids grow up.

 

Ben Threatt- Condo Association Manager   

Ben joined the Cornerstone team February, 2017.  Ben's experience include working in Human Resources, Sales and as a Paramedic.  He is a Navy combat veteran, having served as a hospital corpsman.  Ben is married and the father of six.  He was born and raised in South Carolina before entering the Navy.  He is a golfer and currently the Director of Coaching for th Homeschool Hornets soccer club.  He also serves as an Elder on the Board of at Georgetown Bible Church.  His biggest passion besides his family, is his love for the Clemson Tigers.

 

Liz Corkins- Association Assistant

Liz joined the Cornestone team in August of 2015 and is the Assistant to the Condo Association Managers.  She answers phones, does billing and she is the person you will most likely see at the front desk when you come to our office.  She has a degree in Education and taught for 5 years.  Liz is no stranger to the rental business as she has owned and managed a rental home for 20 years.  Outside of the office, Liz enjoys spending time with her family, camping and hiking.
